Panoz Abruzzi (under development)

If a few days ago somebody had asked me what Panoz was, I never would have guessed it was a car manufacturer. But then all of a sudden, while browsing for pictures of other cars, I noticed one wallpaper of a car that was quite different from other exotic cars - the Panoz Abruzzi.

By now I've learned that Panoz (or Panoz Auto Development) is an American company, founded by Dan Panoz (son of racing mogul Don Panoz) in 1989, which manufactures high-performance automobiles. An interesting fact is that all Panoz road cars are handcrafted at the Braselton workshop.

The Abruzzi is a grand tourer with an FR layout (front engine, rear wheel drive), and comes with a V8 engine delivering 650hp. I also discovered that the Panoz Abruzzi was presented in 2011, and that it is a very exclusive car - to be precise, production will be limited to 81 cars (one for each year of the 24 Hours of Le Mans from its inception to 2013).

Chances are slim you'll ever see one on a B-road nearby, so make the most of these pictures!
